Spring is always such a wonderful time of year--the season of blooming flowers bloom and morning mist. Even pollen allergies play a unique role ‘spring fever’ experience. With the dynamic natural landscapes paired with the blazing California weather, it has been an absolutely perfect time to take a stroll. And Los Gatos perfect place for doing so! On March 28, I went to Downtown Los Gatos with my Uncle Joan and Hernan, where we ate lunch at the Purple Onion, a cafe that serves custom-made dishes. The restaurant also provides their specialty blood-orange juice with meals, which is a perfect refresher on any hot day. I had a delicious mediterranean chicken sandwich: natural chicken breast, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, basil and sun-dried tomato mayo on francese. Yum! | |
Afterwards, we strolled across to the other side of the bridge, passing by the downtown’s many boutiques and local shops. It was so calming to walk in the warm 80 degree weather and chat along the way to pass time. I also love people-watching and admiring the passerby’s aesthetics and their adorable dogs.
Circling back, we also stopped in Icing on the Cake, a pastry shop on West Main Street that sells all sorts of baked goods. Haha, you know it’s got to be a great bakery when it's completely packed and you need to take a number to wait in line. Once our number was called, the three of us rushed to order delicious treats. We purchased chocolate, lemon, and pumpkin flavored cakes that filled almost two whole boxes!
I had such an eventful day and felt blessed to be able to spend the day with both of them. Thank you to you both for introducing me to Purple Onion and Icing on the Cake!
